Catch the morning flight to Bahirdar a wonderful city that boasts mellow atmosphere and lovely location. You will meet your guide at the airport, after an overview of your tour is given by your guide, you will get transferred to your hotel. Then you will head out to Lake Tana with a picnic lunch to have a boat trip on the Zeghe peninsula to visit the ancient monasteries of Mehal Giorgis, Ura Kidanemihret and Azwa Mariam best known for their brightly painted interior. All the three are allowed for women and are the closest monasteries to the city. Ura Kidanemihret houses the finest collection of ecclesiastic artwork in the country. All have a museum with rich collections. In the afternoon return to your hotel. After a brief break, you will have a city tour to visit the local Agelgil and Fish markets. . In the evening you will be transferred to Bezawit hill, a view point where you can enjoy a view of the sun setting beautifully over lake Tana.
Overnight: Unison hotel.
At 7:00am your driver picks you up for a 37kms drive to the village of Tis Isat where you will visit the Blue Nile falls which is the source of River Blue Nile. Next drive 185kms to Gondar. The drive takes you through beautiful landscape of the Ethiopian highlands.
Overnight: Goha hotel.
Buckle up for a 100kms drive to one of Ethiopias awe inspiring mountain scenery. At the small town of Debarq, the park’S head quarter we collect our receipts to the park, scout and a local guide.Our driver drops us at Chinkwanit tail head where your thrilling hike to Simien Mountains a UNESCO registered world heritage site starts. From here you will hike 3-4 hours to Sankaber. You will have lunch at a scenic spot.
Overnight: Ras Dejen hotel.
You will leave your hotel with a picnic lunch. From here we will hike to the scenic Jimbar fall admiring breathtaking landscape. And continue hiking to Chenneck. If you are lucky we can spot Walia Ibex, a bovid endemic to the country and the park. The beautiful view point of chennek is every photographer’s dream. Late afternoon, drive back to Gondar for overnight.
Overnight: Goha hotel.
After breakfast, you will visit the sites in Gondar. The city served as Ethiopian capital from 1636 to the mid-19th century. You can imagine Gondar in its glory days when you visit the royal enclosure, Gondar’s architectural and physical masterpiece; a fortified medieval stone castle that was built by King Fasiledes. Another point of interest is Fasil bath, a pool which was used by Emperor Fasil. In recent days it’s used to celebrate the colorful Timkat festival. Last but not least you will visit a lavishly painted and historical church of Debre Birhan sillassie.
In the afternoon, you will get a transfer to the airport for a flight back to Addis, where your experience to this sacred destination and Nu Ethiopia services comes to an end.
